Apple has made iOS 8.1 available for download today. The new update includes Apple Pay support for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, brings back the camera roll, and fixes a number of bugs and glitches.

A notable new addition in iOS 8.1 is a new option in the Cellular settings, which allows users to switch between LTE, 3G, and 2G cellular networks.  This is helpful in areas with a weak 3G signal, since 2G networks usually travel a longer distance and can reach farther into buildings than 3G or 4G networks.
